Former Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic is available again after being released by Inter Milan following a unsuccessful 18 months in Italy. While some romantic Manchester United fans have but two and two together and come up with the idea of bringing the defender back to United, this is not a good idea for either party.
Vidic won five premier league titles as well as the Champions League in 2008 with United and forever will go down as a legend at Manchester United forming a formidable partnership with Rio Ferdinand. At the age of 34 Vidic has little to offer United in a playing capacity and would be unable to be match ready for the demanding schedule United face with the league, Fa Cup and the Europa League in the coming months. Under Van Gaal's strict training routine I feel Vidic would struggle. While United's defence has leaked goals lately it is however the second best defence in the league and United's priority should be in attack and trying to sign a player who can score goals rather than block them going in.
Vidic however would make an excellent coach and there will always be a place for him at Old Trafford, however I feel his playing career there is over. After a wonderful eight years at the club as player and winning 15 trophies it would not make sense to return at this time.
